Clema vs Onflo for school and district websites

Onflo is a district-wide service desk with an AI chatbot included. Clema is an early-access website assistant that reads your site and documents and cites them. Here is how they differ today.

The short version

Onflo is a mature service platform for district central offices. Its AI chatbot is included with its unified service desk, answers from district webpages, calendars and files with citations, works in 13+ languages, and hands unresolved questions to staff as tickets with the full conversation. Around it sit telephony, an AI phone agent, SIS and HRIS integrations, dashboards, and security attestations (ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, per Onflo). Clema's website assistant is early access and does one job: it reads a district's pages and documents, pulls out contacts, events and deadlines, cites the source for each answer and says when the site does not cover a question. It has been proven on one U.S. K-12 district and has no ticketing, handoff or multilingual answers yet. If you need a help desk that families, staff and phones all feed into, Onflo is ahead. If you want a website assistant built around your documents and calendars, and you are comfortable with early access, talk to Clema.

Where Clema differs

Demo-grade

A website assistant you can add on its own

Clema's assistant does not come bundled with a service desk. It embeds on your existing website with a short script and answers from what is already published there. It is early access, and so far it has been proven on one U.S. K-12 district's site.

Built

Reads documents and calendars, not just pages

The engine crawls the site and the files linked from it: PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and calendar feeds, with no hand-picked source list. Image-only PDFs cannot be read yet.

Built

Pulls out the facts families ask about

Contacts, dated events, deadlines, fees and hours are extracted as structured records, so an answer can give the office, phone number or date your site lists instead of a paragraph to dig through.

Built

Checks itself before it answers

A self-check runs before each answer, and when the site does not cover a question the assistant says so. Every factual answer cites the page or document it used.

Which one fits

Choose Onflo if

  • You want one platform where families, staff, phones and the chatbot all feed the same ticket queue.
  • Unanswered questions must reach a person, with a ticket and the conversation attached.
  • Families need answers in languages other than English (Onflo lists 13+), or by text and phone.
  • Your procurement requires SOC 2 or ISO 27001, SSO and SIS integrations today.
  • You are already replacing an IT, facilities or HR help desk and want the chatbot included.

Choose Clema if

  • You want a website assistant without buying or migrating to a service desk.
  • Much of what families ask lives in PDFs, handbooks and calendars rather than web pages.
  • You want an answer to give the office, phone number or date your site lists, with the source cited.
  • You are comfortable with early access and want a say in how the assistant develops.

Using both

A district could run Onflo as its service desk and a separate assistant on its public website, but Clema cannot pass unresolved questions into Onflo tickets today, and Onflo's chatbot is included with its service desk. Running two assistants on one website is unusual, so you would likely pick one. If you are evaluating, ask each vendor to answer the same 20 real parent questions from your site, including a few that live in PDFs or calendars, and compare the answers and citations side by side.

Clema vs Onflo: common questions

Neither publishes a price. Onflo quotes a tailored annual plan based on enrollment and the products you choose, and its chatbot is included with its unified service desk. Clema's website assistant is in early access, so pricing is discussed with the team.
