Give every prospective student a cited answer from your own website
Clema reads your site, catalogs, fee schedules and calendars, then answers applicants and families in plain language with a link to the page behind every claim. When your site does not cover something, it says so. Early access: our team sets up each college with you.
No college is live yet. The engine has run on a U.S. K-12 district website, and we are looking for a few colleges to shape what comes next.
Where this stands
Built and working
- Crawling your site and documents
- Reading them and pulling out deadlines, fees, events and contacts
- Cited answers, with the source page under each one
- A "not covered" reply when your site is silent
- Follow-up questions that remember context
- A chat widget (demo-grade)
In development with partners
- Capturing a prospective student’s details inside the conversation, with clear consent
- Delivery to your CRM
- A report of what visitors asked that your site could not answer
Tell us which CRM you run. That decides what we build first.
Not available
- Texting
- Live handoff to staff
- Campus visit booking
- Languages other than English
- Reading scanned, image-only PDFs
We do not have a college customer yet, so we will not show you college results. We will not call something live until it is.
Prospective students leave before they ask
Your site holds thousands of pages and PDFs: catalogs, fee schedules, deadlines, transfer rules. A visitor who cannot find the nursing program cost or the fall deadline leaves, or calls and waits for an office to open. Site search hands back ten links and leaves the reading to them. Clema reads the pages and documents and returns one answer, with the source underneath it.
An example conversation
What is the deadline to apply for fall 2027, and is there a fee?
First-year applications for fall 2027 are due March 1, 2027 [1]. The application fee is $40, and it is waived if you apply by January 15 [2]. Transfer students have a priority date of April 15 [1].

Sample built from the kinds of pages a college publishes. Riverbend Community College is fictional, and so are its pages. Real answers come from your own site.
From your website to a cited answer
Step 1: Point us at your site
Give us your URL and tell us which sections and subdomains to include.
Step 2: Clema reads it
Pages, PDFs, Word and Excel files, slides and calendars, following your robots.txt and crawl delay.
Step 3: Clema pulls out the facts that matter
Deadlines, fees, events and contacts, each tied to its page.
Step 4: Visitors ask and Clema answers
In plain language, with sources, and with today’s date supplied so it can tell a past deadline from an upcoming one.
Added to your site with a short script. In early access our team runs setup with you, and we check how your site is built first. Self-serve setup is on the roadmap, not available yet.
Built to cite its sources and admit gaps
Every claim links to its page
Staff and students can check any answer in one click.
It says when your site is silent
If the content is not on your website, Clema tells the visitor instead of guessing, and points to a person when your site lists one.
It reads the formats you publish
Text-based PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and calendar files, not only web pages.
It is given today's date
Clema is given today's date so it can tell a past deadline from an upcoming one.
Clema uses OpenAI models to process page text and write answers. We will go through our data handling terms with you before anything is installed.
What it cannot do yet
- Scanned, image-only PDFs are not readable today.
- Very long catalogs are only partly read.
- Answers are in English.
- There is no live human handoff, campus visit booking or text messaging.
- Answers can be wrong or incomplete, which is why every one links to its source.
We would rather tell you now than in a demo.
Built to sit next to your CRM, not replace it
Your CRM runs outreach and applications. The website assistant answers the visitor who has not told you who they are yet. We are building lead capture with clear consent, and delivery to the system your admissions team already uses. None of that is live. If CRM delivery decides your yes or no, tell us which CRM you run; it shapes what we build first.
Tell us which CRM you runA website assistant is a different tool from an enrollment platform
| CRM or messaging platform | Clema website assistant | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts from | Your contact records and campaigns | Your public website |
| Best at | Outbound email, text and nurture | Answering the visitor who is already on your site |
| Setup | Integration and implementation work | A crawl of your site and a short script, set up by our team in early access |
Many colleges will want both.
General description of product categories, not a claim about any one vendor.
Your IR office already owns the data questions
Clema for IR answers questions from IPEDS, College Scorecard and your institutional data, and it is available today. The website assistant is a separate early-access product for the public side of campus. We want the questions your site could not answer to reach the office that owns your enrollment data. That report is planned, not built. Looking for forecasting, yield and peer benchmarks instead? See Clema for enrollment leaders.
The security and compliance statements on our homepage describe Clema for IR.
Proven on a school district first
The engine runs on a live U.S. K-12 district website. On a question set we wrote for that district, it answered 50 of 50 correctly and held up in 14 of 14 multi-turn conversations, graded by an AI judge.
50 of 50
questions answered correctly on a set we wrote for the district
14 of 14
multi-turn conversations handled, graded by an AI judge
That is our own test, on one district. It is not an independent audit and it is not a college result. A college site has more programs and more PDFs, and we have not tested one yet.

It is an AI assistant you add to your college website. Clema crawls your public site and documents, then answers prospective students and families in plain language, with a link to the source page for each claim. It is in early access.
It is in early access. The engine is built and has run on a live U.S. K-12 district website. We plan to onboard the first colleges by hand, and we have no college customers yet. Lead capture, CRM delivery and self-serve setup are in development.
No. It is designed to sit next to the CRM you already use. The CRM manages contacts and outreach. The website assistant answers questions from visitors on your site. Delivery of conversation details into a CRM is in development, not live.
Not yet. Lead capture inside the conversation, with explicit consent, is the next thing we are building. We do not report lead or enrollment results because none exist.
Only from the pages and documents on the sites you choose, such as your main site and admissions or catalog subdomains. Each answer shows the pages it used. If your site does not cover a question, Clema says so.
It reads text-based PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and calendar files. Scanned image-only PDFs are not readable yet, and very long catalogs are only partly read today.
Yes. It cites its sources so visitors can check, and it says when your site is silent, but answers can be incomplete or wrong. We do not claim it is always right.
No. The website assistant is designed to read only your public website and has no access to student records. We design with FERPA in mind. We do not claim a FERPA certification or SOC 2 report for this product; the compliance statements on our homepage describe Clema for IR.
Clema uses OpenAI models to process page text and write answers. Ask us for the current data handling terms during early access, and we will walk through them with you before anything is installed.
Clema for IR answers questions from federal datasets and your institutional data, such as IPEDS, and it is available today. The website assistant answers questions from your public website and is in early access. Both come from the same team.
We have not published pricing for the website assistant. During early access we agree scope and terms with each college directly.
Want to be one of the first colleges?
We are working with a small group of early partners. Tell us your website and what your admissions team hears most, and we will show you what Clema reads from your site.
